Growing up, we used to love making “Orange Julius” to go with special birthday breakfasts and holidays. Our version involved frozen OJ concentrate and lots of sugar. I’ve changed it up to be a much healthier version and my kids still consider it a special treat. The recipe below yields about 3 glasses of Orange Julius.👇🏻
•3 whole oranges, peeled (or 5 small mandarin oranges, like the ones shown)
•1 cup milk of choice
•1 TB raw honey (I use this one.)
•1-2 handfuls of ice
•Dash of vanilla
•2 scoops grassfed collagen (totally optional, but I like to throw it in for added nutrition. It’s tasteless.)
Put all ingredients in a high-speed blender (I use a vitamix.) and blend well. Tip: if I think of it in advance, I’ll peel the oranges and stick them in the freezer for a while and then not use as much ice.
